Privacy Policy

Account information. When you register, we collect:

• Email address and password (used for email/password sign-in)
• Name (if provided) and a display name you choose for your family
• Sign-in provider identifier when you use Google or Microsoft to sign in

Content you create. This includes:

• Meals — name, ingredients, instructions, personal notes, prep/cook times, tags, ratings, and any recipe photos or video links you add
• Weekly meal plans and the meals assigned to each day
• Pantry items and their stock status
• Shopping list items, quantities, categories and purchase status
• Meal votes (thumbs up/down) you cast within a family
• Preferences such as favourite cuisines, prep day and week-start day
• Family name, invite code and your role within a family

Information you provide to AI features. When you use AI features you may send us recipe text, recipe or video URLs, uploaded recipe photos, free-text descriptions of leftovers, and selected pantry ingredients.

Information stored locally on your device. The app stores a randomly generated device identifier and a cached record of YouTube video metadata in your browser’s local storage.

Technical and usage data. Base44 and its service providers may automatically log technical information such as device type, browser, app usage activity and error data as part of operating and securing the platform.

• To store, display and organise the meals, plans, pantry, shopping lists and preferences you create
• To generate AI meal ideas, weekly plans, leftover suggestions and “cook with what I have” suggestions
• To import recipes from URLs, video links, pasted text or uploaded photos
• To generate and display food images for meal cards
• To find and embed relevant YouTube recipe videos
• To enable voice input for adding pantry and shopping items
• To let you share meal-planning data with family members who join your family
• To operate, maintain, secure and improve the app and the Base44 platform

Several features are powered by artificial intelligence provided through Base44 platform integrations. The exact underlying AI/LLM and image-generation provider may vary and is determined by the platform. When you use these features, the following types of information may be sent to and processed by these services:

• Meal names, ingredients, instructions, tags, ratings and notes
• Pantry ingredient names and stock status
• Cuisine and time preferences
• Recipe text, recipe URLs and video links you paste
• Recipe photos you upload (for recipe extraction and image quality checks)
• Free-text descriptions of leftovers
• Text prompts derived from the above to generate food images

Some AI requests may use web search to enrich results. AI-generated content may be inaccurate; always use your own judgement before relying on it.

To help you find cooking videos, the app searches the YouTube Data API using your meal names or video IDs and displays video titles, channel names, thumbnails and embedded YouTube players. Your use of YouTube content is also subject to Google’s privacy terms. YouTube video metadata may be cached on your device for up to 30 days to improve performance.

Voice input uses your browser’s built-in speech recognition (the Web Speech API). Depending on your browser and operating system, your spoken audio may be processed by a cloud-based speech service operated by the browser or device vendor (for example, Google on Chrome). The app does not send audio to its own servers. You can always type instead of using voice.

The app lets you create a family and share an invite code or link so others can join. When someone joins your family, they can access the shared meals, meal plans, pantry, shopping lists and votes within that family. This is intentional sharing initiated by you. You can regenerate your invite code at any time from Settings.

We do not sell your information. We may share information:

• With Base44 and its infrastructure, AI, image-generation, file-storage and authentication service providers as needed to operate the app
• With YouTube (Google) when searching for or embedding recipe videos
• With your family members as described above
• To comply with legal obligations, or to protect the rights, property or safety of users or others

The app does not currently use custom in-app analytics tracking. However, Base44 and other service providers may process technical or usage data as part of providing and securing their services.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Data you create is stored on the Base44 platform. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information, but no system can be guaranteed completely secure.

• Access and edit your meals, plans, pantry, shopping lists and preferences at any time within the app
• Log out or remove individual items you have created
• Delete your account from Settings — this deletes your meals, meal plans, pantry, shopping lists and items, votes, preferences, family memberships and any families you own
• Request that family members be removed from a family you own

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone.

The app is intended for adults managing household meal planning and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here.
